Weight loss, Wine and Calories


For people who are engaged in a weight loss program, or are just conscious of watching their weight, they need to be aware of the number of calories they ingest every day. Counting calories is always something people need to be aware of when they are trying to lose weight. People who are wine enthusiasts tend to ask, "How many calories are in wine?". Even though there are numerous health benefits of wine, particularly red wine, people still need to be aware of how many they are taking in with each glass of wine they drink.

 

 

 

Counting Calories and Wine

For any weight loss program, a good goal to strive for is to consume 500 to 1000 calories less than you burn off during the day. If you can stick to this, you can easily expect to lose 1 to 2 kg per week, which is a safe and healthy rate of weight loss. But how does this help the wine enthusiast? Is all wine the same? You might notice that there is no fat in wine. Does this mean it is healthy? Well, yes and no. Just because it has no fat does not mean that you can drink it by the bottle and not expect to gain any weight. Remember, any excess carbohydrates or calories that you ingest and do not burn through exercise will get stored as fat in your body for later use.
